Thanks for all the dear eldres this week. i love em. and thanks for that package. i really appreciated all the goodies, thank you otes and clothes. Jason and Tiffany, i hope you are still enjoying the HOT weather!! 104, that's smokin!!! And i u all are doing well. Glad to hear San Fran was soo much fun. It seemed like you guys really enjoyed it. i bet alcatraz will be awesome. i have always wanted to go there. How's the family reunion and Lake Tahoe? I bet you are having a blast with everyone. Tell everyone hi for me. So some exciting news for you and grandma, elder kofford and i took some pictures by the map. They are pretty good. I'll send my sdcard home with my extra pair of spanish scriptures and then just send it back once you upload my pics. But I can't believe Elder Kofford leaves on Tuesday...it's crazy!! BUt he is gonna be a great missionary and he is excited to leave and get to Lisbon.
So the MTC is great. The spirit is awesome and i am learning so much everyday. i felt like my spanish was coming slower this week for most of the days, but there were a few days where i was getting it. Line upon line precept upon precept I'll learn the language. i know that it will come over time, i just gotta keep working hard at it. The mission presidents week was pretty cool. I didn't see many people because they blocked off where they were. But i did walk right past Russell M. Nelson which was awesome!!! Then on friday we had a great devotional by Dallin H. Oaks. He talked about the 3 ways that our church is the true church. He said they were that we have the fullness of His doctrine, we have the power of the priesthood, and we have a unique testimony of Jesus Christ. It was very doctrinal and straight forward, but it was such a powerful talk. It was awesome to sit at the foot of an apostle and learn for him. There were 8 apostles at the devotional in all. Jeffrey R. Holland, Richard G. Scott, Dallin H. Oaks, Russell M. Nelson, D. Todd Christopherson, Quetin L. Cook, Neil L. Anderson, and David A. Bednar. It was sweet. And then last night for our tuesday devotional, Sister Elaine S. Dalton, the general young women president, spoke to us. She talked about confidence and it was sweet. She said that in latin, confidence is based off of two latin roots, con and fadeo (?). Con means with and fideo means faith. She made a comparison to running and running hills. She said, "You never make the decision to quit or turn back when you are in the middle of the hill." She then went on to talk about a marathon runner from tanzania. We watched a movie about him and about how he persevered through injuries to finish the marathon. He said my country didn't send me 5000 miles to start the race, they sent me 5000 miles to finish the race. It was powerful. I related that to us. Something i wrote down was, A voice calls from within, GO ON!!!! God sent us here, not to start the race, but to finish the race. We must always press forward with confidence (with faith). I really liked her talk.
Mine and Elder Cole's roommates left this morning for Peru. They are gonna be great missionaries and it was sad to see them leave. They were great example to me. BUt things continue to go well and i continue to grow. Somedays are harder than others but i have learned from everyone of them. Like the missionaries of the MTC say, the days are long, but the weeks are short!! I can't believe that it's already my P-day again and that i have been in here 3 weeks. I feel like i have been in here forever because i have learned so much.
I love you guys and hope that you're enjoying the family reunion, and Denver getting ready for Eli, and i hope that Belgium is great. I pray for you often and thank you so much for your prayers. Please keep writing if you can. i look forward to it everyday!! I love you all and give everyone my love. la iglesia es verdadera!!
Love,
Elder Glover
